About Adam
Biography

I am currently employed at the University of Waterloo where I work for Housing Technology in the Housing and Residence department. My job is to research and develop new technologies for the ResNet environment and to complete many varied technical tasks from web site creation to networking.

In my off-time I work on research for a Masters degree in computer science. The research is focused on computer graphics (CG) and artificial intelligence (AI) and should be completed prior to April 2006. I commute once a week to the University of Guelph to meet with my advisor Gary Grewal.

I received a bachelors degree in Computer Science from Brock University in 2003. During my time at Brock I specialized in artificial intelligence by taking an option in Intelligent Systems.

Computer graphics has fascinated me for a long time. I grew up with computer games and always wondered how it was done. My first 3D application was written in visual basic with 2D lines (it even had perspective projection). I spent a lot of time in high school trying to understand algebra and geometry so I could improve but once I hit university I found OpenGL and the rest is history. In my last two years of university I spent my time on projects that mixed computer graphics with artificial intelligence. I owe a lot to Dr. Brian J. Ross of Brock for helping me with papers and sending me to conferences and giving me the great opportunities that I enjoyed.
